This event was part of the Six Cities Design Festival programme in 2007.

A Double Bill of talks combining the best Scottish and International design talent. FAT is a London-based practice with an international reputation for exceptional architecture. Founded in 1995, the practice works across a wide range of sectors including housing, education, offices, master planning, interior and exhibition design. FAT's design process directly engages with cultural, social and urban contexts to produce imaginative solutions to complex and challenging briefs. Sam Jacob and Charles Holland from FAT will be discussing the practice's work which includes the Islington Square housing scheme in Manchester, and the Saint Lucas School in Holland. Alan Pert co-founded NORD (Northern Office for Research and Design) with Robin Lee in July 2002. NORD are currently working on a range of projects which include residential, commercial, domestic, retail and leisure as well as interior design and exhibition design.
