Your life, your design

From 17 May – 3 June 2007 the six cities of Scotland - Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Stirling - hosted the country’s first nationwide international design festival. The Six Cities Design Festival created over 300 exhibitions, lectures, workshops and events that reached an enthusiastic audience of over 300,000 people.

The Festival promoted the vibrancy and vitality of the Scottish design industry and supported our talented designers. It showed that design can make a positive impact on our quality of life and wellbeing and increaes business success, as well as inspiring a new generation of designers.

To celebrate this achievement we have published Where We Are, a Design Guide to Scotland’s Six Cities. Beautifully designed by Marque, it tells you the unique places to visit, sleep, eat and shop in Scotland’s six cities alongside introductions to some of our best designers.
