This event was part of the Six Cities Design Festival programme in 2007.

The Six Cities Design Festival presents a dynamic double bill featuring the best of design talent. Peter Saville is a designer of unique influence on visual culture. In 1979, he became a founding partner of the landmark independent record label Factory Records where he created some of the most recognisable album covers of all time for Joy Division and New Order. Saville's many clients have included Pulp, Suede, the Pompidou Centre, Christian Dior and Stella McCartney. In 2004 he was appointed Creative Director for Manchester with the role of creatively branding the city. Robert Johnston is a designer based in Glasgow working through his company Pause Button Edit. He has produced books for Douglas Gordon, Jim Lambie and Mark Titchner, as well as websites and identities for The Modern Institute, Sorcha Dallas and Kunsthalle Basel. Robert has also designed record covers for Rough Trade and Chemikal Underground. Watch the talks online...click here
